Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer
Present position since October 2002. Previously chairman from January to September 2002; chairman and chief executive officer, 1996 through 2001. Joined the company in 1976 and held a number of financial and operating positions between 1976 and 1982. In 1982, appointed executive vice president of Missouri Public Service, Aquila's founding company. Became the company's chief executive officer in 1985 and chairman of the board in 1989. B.S. business, Southern Methodist University.
Jon R. Empson
Senior Vice President, regulated operations
Present position since December 2003. Previously senior vice president, Regulatory, Legislative and Environmental Services; senior vice president-Gas Supply; senior vice president-Regulation, Finance and Administration at former Peoples Natural Gas division. Prior administrative and public affairs management and officer positions with Northern Natural Gas Co. Earlier, an economist with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Omaha, Neb., Chamber of Commerce. B.A. economics, Carleton College; M.B.A. University of Nebraska-Omaha.
Leo E. Morton
Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer
Present position since 2000. Previously senior vice president-human resources and operations support, senior vice president-operations support. Prior executive positions with AT&T Microelectronics and AT&T Bell Laboratories. Earlier service with General Motors Corporation, Rust Engineering Company and Corning Glass. Lynn Fountain
Vice President, risk assessment and audit services
Present position since February 2004. Responsible for audit function, enterprise risk assessment, and Sarbanes-Oxley procedures. Energy industry experience since 1982, including PanCanadian Energy, Anadarko Petroleum and Transco Energy. Past member, Committee of Chief Risk Officers. President, International Energy Credit Association in 2000. Board member of the Guadalupe Centers Inc. and MidAmerica Minority Business Development Council. Michael Cole
Vice President, finance and treasurer
Present position since May 2006. Previously assistant treasurer. Previously an associate director at Standard & Poor's in the gas and electric utilities ratings group before joining Aquila in 1997 with responsibility for major, complex acquisitions. Prior finance positions at the Maine Public Service Commission and the Illinois Public Service Commission. B.S. finance and M.B.A. from Western Illinois University.
Lynnette Wilson
Vice President, communications and investor relations
Present position since June 2006. Previously an Issues Strategist reporting to the Chairman and serving as executive-level adviser and project manager. Prior positions include vice president of: human resources; client services; merchant operations; and commodity transaction structuring group. Joined Aquila in 1999. Served on the executive boards of the National Energy Services Association and the Gas Industry Standards Board. B.S. marketing, Bellevue (Neb.) University; M.B.A., Rockhurst University.
Beth Armstrong
Chief Accounting Officer
Present position since July 2006. Communication of financial results to management, board of directors and investors. Oversight of budgeting, accounting, accounting policies and strategic planning. Joined Aquila in 1991 as manager of financial reporting and property accounting for Missouri Public Service. Other positions include controller, Aquila; controller, Missouri Public Service; vice president, U.S. utility financial management. Prior to Aquila, manager of audit services at Price Waterhouse.
