AquilaCares Charitable Contributions
Aquila's Social Vision
At Aquila, we believe that our future depends on healthy, vibrant communities and opportunities for youth to fulfill their potential. To that end, we support numerous non-profit organizations in the communities where Aquila conducts business.
The aim of Aquila's philanthropic efforts is to:
- Enable the company to fulfill our corporate social responsibilities in the communities in which we have a business interest.
- Enhance the quality of life for our employees, stakeholders and communities.
- Support the volunteer efforts of our employees by donating to or assisting organizations in which they play an active role.
It is our hope that through the combined efforts of AquilaCares financial support and employee involvement, we can make our communities a better place to live.
Funding Opportunities
Focus Areas
Aquila has identified Youth Development as our primary area for charitable contributions consideration. Charitable contributions in Youth Development support activities aimed at broad-scale outreach to area youth for the purposes of building leadership, social skills and self-esteem; enhancing business education and academic performance; and fostering the successful transition from youth to productive adulthood. Aquila considers the following criteria as qualifiers for Youth Development:
- Develops core competencies in youth.
- Builds on strengths rather than deficiencies.
- Demonstrates a need in the community and outlines how the organization will minister to that need.
Other focus areas that Aquila supports include community betterment; education and literacy; human services; and safe, affordable, energy-efficient housing.
