Gray County Wind Farm
Construction on the Gray County Wind Farm began April 30, 2001, and was completed in December 2001. There are 170 turbines mounted on 214-foot-tall tubular towers in east-west rows. The project spreads over 8,000 acres of land, but the towers and roads cover just 43 acres.

Directions: Take Highway 56 to County Road 1, just east of Montezuma, KS, or about 25 miles west of Dodge City, KS. You'll see the wind turbines and a visitors kiosk right off 56 on County Road 1.
