Energy theft is a serious offense that is hazardous and illegal. Stopping energy theft protects our communities and your rates. When someone steals energy, everyone pays.
Why Report Energy Theft?
- Fraud and energy theft of electricity and/or natural gas result in higher energy costs for all customers.
- Tampering with electric and natural gas meters poses a serious hazard to you, your neighbors, our employees, your property and the thieves.
- Tampering can result in serious injury, electrocution, asphyxiation, fire, explosions and death.
How Do I Report Energy Theft
If you suspect someone of tampering with or receiving unauthorized use of electricity or natural gas service, please report it either through our Helpline at (800) 789-9181 or (816) 467-8102 or through the Energy Theft Online Reporting Form. Your call or electronic message will remain confidential.
The Aquila Corporate Security Department works hard to stop fraud, theft and other unauthorized consumption of electric or natural gas service. Our goal is to provide safe and reliable energy to our customers.
